Whilst it seems there's been some highly questionable logging/export practices with salvage logs being exported to China. Logs are supposed to be 'processed' in Victoria in order to protect jobs. Does chopping them to size to fit in a shipping container really constitute processing?

The groundswell of community discontent with Shire of yarra ranges is not about forest management - it is about YOU hijacking council to push your own green agenda. 70% of Victorian municipal organisations DO NOT support your ethical paper pledge - that is a clear message that you do not have clear support from the community on your so clled ethical pledge. Bringing late motions to council without public input is not democracy at work! It is green ideology masquerading as good governance.
Considering Yarra valley communities need to form their own groups to engage with council to ensure adequate services are provided to rate payers, council should be focussing on real issues, not your green bulldust
Yarra Ranges has publicly affirmed its choice when purchasing copy paper - perhaps if those municipalities visited the forests of Yarra Ranges, especially to compare those that are intact with those which have been logged, they'd understand why we choose to purchase ethical paper.
This is about what paper we buy, don't you try and spin it into something else anonymous.
But Samantha - you DONT buy reflex to start with so dont accuse me of spin! Those municipalities arent interested in forest which they have no jurisdiction over, they are interested in provided good services to rate payer. Adequate road maintainence, drainaige and infrastructure management, supporting communities, not green wank. I look forward to council elections next year where you will be crushed.
I was elected because of my work on the early years and childcare, I have worked continually on public transport, community safety, speed limits on our roads, library services, appropriate budget allocations for the backlog of infrastructure projects, sport and recreation - real issues or Green wank?
