monbulk pool - project update

Great to see women leading the charge in Local Government.
Out onsite at the Monbulk Pool redevelopment.

Works & Urban Planning, Julee Scott - Coordinator Major
Building Projects and Cr Samantha Dunn - Lyster Ward.
I recently took a site visit around the Monbulk Pool to inspect how the reconstruction was going.

Of recent time the weather has been kind to us and much work is been completed.

Looking toward the new gym, from the access
road behind the pool.
As expected there's minor changes along the way, it happens with major construction projects. We learnt that two water tanks need to be installed for fire prevention purposes due to the poor water pressure on site so we'll be working them into the project.

It's terrific to start to see the new parts of the centre take place as the steel work goes up. The concrete is poured to for the new gym and the old pool.

I'll keep you updated along the way. It's wonderful to see this major project for the Lyster Ward start to take shape. I'm very proud to have been able to secure funding for this well overdue project.

Looking toward the new cafe and entry area from the
new gym - hard to imagine now!

Inside the new gum, looking to the rear of the site. The
design of the gym takes full advantage of the
magnificent view of the riparian area of the
Sassafras Creek.

Looking through the existing pool hall across the
existing pool (albeit re-poured) toward the front entry.
