farewelling an old friend

It was a celebration of friends, familiar faces and good food for the final day of Saffron Cottage at the old cottage in Tecoma.

Nikki, myself and Shabana at Saffron Cottage's last day
in the cottage, it was a wonderful celebration, sometimes
joyous, sometimes teary, but a great testament to Nikki and
Shabana's passion for good food and great customer service.

Former staff from Saffron Cottage joined to say farewell to the cottage, the place was packed with customers enjoying one last meal and the phone rang off the hook with take away orders.

The cottage is scheduled to be demolished as part of the McDonalds application and the lease was up so it was the last day of trade for Saffron Cottage at this site.

It was wonderful to see staff and former staff celebrate
what has become a Tecoma institution.

In a true show of confidence and continued investment in Tecoma, Nikki and Shabana will be opening a smaller venue further up Burwood Hwy at 1567 (in the old Butcher's shop), later this month.

They also have a permit to build a cottage restaurant at 1525 Burwood Hwy, Tecoma, originally approved by council but contested at VCAT, they now have planning approval after the VCAT mediation session.

Congratulations to Nikki and Shabana, your energy and passion for what you do is wonderful and I have no doubt we will continue to see that passion continue in your new premises.
