It’s great to see the new boardwalk being constructed at the entrance of Birdsland.

The boardwalk forms part of the works recommended in the Birdsland Master Plan. Years in the making, the Master Plan guides works and use of the reserve for years to come.

The boardwalk will provide an off road connection to the Belgrave to Lysterfield trail enabling pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders to cross the Monbulk Creek from the front car park without being forced on road to use the bridge on McNicol Road.

It provides much safer options for trail users and will help Birdsland be more accessible to reserve users.
