detox your home - coming up 12 may

Yarra Ranges residents wanting to dispose of old cleaning products, left over paint, dead batteries or weed killer can safely do so on Saturday 12 May.



Sustainability Victoria in cooperation with the Shire of Yarra Ranges will provide the free DETOX YOUR HOME service from 8am to 4pm at the council's Operations Depot, Nelson Rd, Lilydale.



It's a safe and environmentally friendly way to get rid of chemical products you might have around your house. It's easy to accumulate these things over time and DETOX YOUR HOME gives you an opportunity to get rid of them!



DETOX YOUR HOME will accept:
Paint
Old batteries
BBQ gas cylinders
Kitchen and bathroom cleaners
Brake fluids, fuels and coolants
Poisonous household and garden products
Solvents and glues
Photographic chemicals
Fire extinguishers

These WONT be accepted:
Chemicals used for commercial and industrial purposes
Motor oil
Containers over 20ltrs or 20kgs, or empty chemical containers
Farm chemicals
Waste asbestos, ammunition and flares.
