Council has received a copy of the approved demolition permit, meaning demolition may take place from here on in.

Council is still reviewing all the documentation to approve condition one of the VCAT permit, this refers to the amended plans and other supporting information required prior to construction, all information must be 'to the satisfaction of the Responsible Authority'. Construction cannot commence until Condition 1 plans have been approved by council.

The Construction Management Plan is currently being amended to address issues raised by council.

 

I recently met with the Minister for Planning. It was a positive meeting with discussion on various local planning matters including how the recently announced Landscape Planning Statements may provide greater clarity about protecting what is special about the Dandenong Ranges.

We also discussed the various tools available in the planning scheme that could be utilised to provide greater certainty and reinforce the character of the Dandenongs.

I am maintaining dialogue with the Minister and his office.
