dark day for tecoma

In news just to hand VCAT have handed down their decision to approve McDonalds in Tecoma. This is a very disappointing outcome and I believe it is a disastrous outcome for Tecoma.

I've had a cursory look at the decision, it seems the tribunal have paid little regard to community concerns but I'll upload a more detailed analysis soon.

I lived in FTG for 13 years and this decision by VCAT has made a complete mockery of the lifestyle choices people make in this beautiful part of the world. There are some places that seriously just should not be comercialised. The reason why The Dandenongs are so popular with tourists is because it is quaint and untainted. Lovely small owner operated businesses, this will be the death knell for many of them. Please continue to fight this.
